How do I find an item?
Products are sorted into categories. The main product categories can be
found under the “Products” tab in the menu at the top of your screen.
Choosing a category will take you to a list of sub-categories.
Selecting a sub-category will present a list of related products.
You can also search for part number and descriptions by using our search
feature which is located just under the clock icon on the
top-left hand side of the website.
How do I place an
order?
To place an order, begin by finding the item(s) you want on the website
(see "How do I find an
item?”). Each product has a full description of all available
information on that product and provides links to downloadable
resources (i.e. manuals, code, appnotes etc.)
1) Enter the quantity and click the "Add to Cart" image
2) If you need to change the quantity in the shopping cart, adjust the
number in the quantity field and click the recalculate button.
3) When you are done shopping, click the checkout button in the
shopping cart.
4) To continue shopping, click continue shopping. You will be returned
to the last product page you visited.
What
if want to know shipping before I finalize my order?
To get a shipping quote before placing your order, click the shipping
quote button, which is listed on the first screen of the shopping cart.
This function will ask you to select your country from a drop down
list. If your destination country is Canada, you will also be asked to
choose a province.
After you have selected your shipping area, based on the contents of
your shipping cart, several shipping options will be displayed for you
to choose from.
From this screen you can choose to continue shopping or proceed to the
checkout. This function is particularly helpful when you have a budget
to adhere too as it allows you to modify your cart contents and
complete as many shipping estimates as necessary to find the perfect
delivery method for your needs. Rates depend on location, shipping
method and total weight of the product in your cart.
What about
purchase orders?
HVW Technologies does offer Net30 credit to companies upon credit
approval. To obtain this credit, please fax us a list of credit
references along with your initial purchase order. If you have an
account, simply fax your P.O. to 1-403-730-8903. There is a $100
minimum order (before taxes and shipping) to purchase on account.
Educational, Military or Government Institutions need not apply for
credit. Net30 will be automatically extended upon receipt of a copy of
the original P.O. by fax, mail or email.

When will you
ship my order?
Under normal circumstances, orders for in-stock items received by 2 pm
(mountain standard time) are shipped the same day. We will contact you
if an in-stock item cannot be shipped the same day for your approval.

internationally?
YES! We ship all over the world every day. If you are interested in

What are my
shipping options?
Courier (UPS or
Purolator)
All courrier services have $100 worth of indemnity (insurance) included
with the shipping price. This insurance cannot be removed to lower the
cost of the shipment. If the value of your order (excluding tax and
shipping) is over $100, we recommend that you purchase additional
insurance to cover the full value of the order. If you decline
insurance, your order will ship with the default $100 insurance only.
If the package is lost or damaged, you will be not be covered for any
loss over $100. By placing an order, you accept responsibility for the
shipment when it leaves our facility.
Air Mail (Canada Post
and USPS Mail)
US / International: To the U.S., insurance is available for the
Xpresspost shipping option and is strongly recommended for all orders
shipped by this method. We are also able to offer tracking ability with
this mailing option only.
All shipments are F.O.B. our location, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. HVW
Technologies Inc. cannot be held responsible for any cost of
replacement of lost merchandise or business arising from the delay,
damage or loss of merchandise by a carrier.
Picking Up an Order in
Person
HVW Technologies is a web-based business and as such have designed our
website to showcase our products -far better than we could in even the
largest showroom. We do not have walk-in, storefront retail
space, but we do welcome people to drop by. All we ask is that you
please call ahead of time as we want to ensure that the right people
are available to help you when you arrive. Oh, and we also quite often
have a dog on site. She is very friendly but her barking can be
intimidating. If you are not a dog person, no worry! We can tuck her in
the office with our web programmer, just be sure to mention this before
you drop by.
If you are in the Calgary area and wish to pick-up your order, simply
select "pick-up" as the shipping method. We will process your order and
have it ready for you to collect at the appointed time. Please note
that you must place an order via this website at least 1 hour before
picking-up your order and we ask that please contact us before dropping
by at 1-403-730-8603.
Is there
volume and/or educational pricing?
Volume pricing is shown on each product page. For quantities greater
than those shown on the product page, please contact us for a quote.
Educational pricing is available to recognized educational
institutions. In order for educational pricing to be visible to you on
the web site, we must register you as an educational customer. Once
registered, simply log in to get educational prices.

Is there a
minimum order value?
While there is no minimum order requirement, there is a $5 handling
charge for all orders under $30 of value (before the addition of
shipping charges or taxes).
What
payment methods are accepted?
Please note that HVW Technologies is a division of Solarbotics Ltd. All payments are
processed by Solarbotics Ltd.
Credit Card:
We accept Visa and MasterCard. We are unable to accept AMEX at this
time.
Money Order:
Canadian Customers: Money Orders can be obtained from any bank or post
office. When you submit an order online, you will receive an email with
the total amount of your order and mailing instructions. Your order
will ship as soon as your money order is received.
U.S. and International Customers: Only International Money Orders in
U.S. funds are accepted. Please note that International money orders
are pink in colour (domestic are green). We are unable to
cash non-International Money Orders and they will be returned to you.
When you submit an order online, you will receive an email with the
total amount of your order and mailing instructions. Your order will
ship as soon as your money order is received.
Please note: You must complete and submit your order on this website,
even when paying by money order. Money Orders received without a
corresponding online order cannot be processed.
Personal/Company Cheque
(Canadian & US Customers Only)
We do accept payment by cheque but there is a 7-business day clearing
period from the day we deposit the cheque until the order is shipped.
To pay by Cheque, select the "Cheque" option in the Payment Method
section of the order form. You will receive a confirmation email with
the total amount of your order and mailing instructions.
There is a $25 CAD fee for cheques returned NSF (non-sufficient funds).
Please note: You must complete and submit your order on the website,
even when paying by cheque. Cheques received without a corresponding
online order cannot be processed.
PayPal
Payment by PayPal is an option. When you select this method, after you
have placed your order, you will be prompted to go to PayPal’s website
to make your payment. PayPal payments may be remitted to
paypal@solarbotics.com.
Electronic (Wire)
Transfer
This option is available upon request only. Customers may pay by
electronic (wire) transfer. All orders under $500.00 CAD for Canadian
customer and $500.00 USD for US and International customers will have
a $35.00 fee charged to them for accepting payment by this method for
processing costs charged by our bank.
Ok,
what about taxes and duties?
All duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. Canadian orders will be charged the following amounts: 12% for BC, 13% for Ontario, 15% for Nova Scotia and 5% for the rest of Canada. We do not charge Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or tax on
orders destined outside of Canada.
NOTE: Authorities in your country may impose local taxes upon arrival. Check with your local customs office for more information. Duties will be assessed by the individual importing country laws and regulations and will be charged at the time of delivery. Due to the complexity of international shipping, we are not able to provide quotes or estimates of these amounts. By placing an order, you accept responsibility for these fees when the order leaves our facility.
My
order has not arrived, what should I do?
When your order is shipped you will receive an email notifying you of
the shipment and providing you with invoice and tracking/trace numbers
(where applicable). If your order has not arrived by its appointed
time, or if you have any concerns, please contact us at sales@hvwtech.com
or at 1-888-448-9832 (1-403-730-8603 local and international) and a
sales representative will be happy to assist you. Please note we try to
respond to all emails with 1-2 business days.
If available, a trace may be opened on your package with the shipping
company originally used. This process can take 2-3 business days before
any results are returned.
I would
like to return some product, what are my options?
All returns require an RMA number.
You may return merchandise (excluding software, books, special or
custom orders, and items marked Final Sale) within 30 days of purchase
for whatever reason. All goods must be in new and unused condition and
be in its original packaging. Beyond the 30 day period, there is a 20%
restocking fee.
To make a return, please contact HVW Technologies to obtain an RMA
(Return Merchandise Authorization) number and further return
instructions. All returned goods must have an RMA number to get a
refund. The customer must prepay return shipping and items must be
properly packaged. Upon return of the item to HVW Technologies, and
once it has been deemed in new, resaleable condition, a refund will be
given or a credit applied to your account.
Privacy
Policy / No Spam Guarantee
We respect your privacy. We have a formal no-spam policy in effect that
protects you from unwanted email solicitations. Any information you
provide (email address etc.) or details of what/when you purchase are
held in strict confidence and will be used ONLY for the purpose of
completing your order. Your information will NOT be used for ANY other
purpose. We do not sell/lend/give customer information to anyone.
Let's face it; nobody likes to receive unwanted garbage. An unsolicited
E-mail is just as bad as a salesman calling you on the phone or ringing
your doorbell during dinner. We hate spam as much as you do (maybe more
-you should see how much we get!) so you should know that we will not
contribute to your overflowing spam-filter mail folder.
Why Do I Need an
Account?
Our online ordering system asks you to create an 'account' so that we
can serve you better. When you create an account, you provide all the
information that we need to process your order, and it gets encrypted
and stored so you don't have to type it all over again the next time
you make a purchase. Please note that as an added security policy,
credit card information is NOT stored on the web system. You will be
asked to enter your credit card each time you order.
ALL information provided is kept in strict confidence and is used only
for the purpose of filling your order(s). Please see the section on Your Privacy
What do you
do for my security?
Information you provide for purposes of placing an order are strictly
confidential and are not used for any other purposes other than the
fulfillment of that specific order. That said, we expect that the
information you provide is accurate and true. Orders containing false
information will be cancelled without notice.
For your protection, our servers are secured using encryption
technology. When connected to the secure server (Netscape users have a
lock that closes in the bottom left-hand corner of your browser screen,
Internet Explorer users have a lock in the bottom right-hand corner)
all information you send is encrypted and cannot be decoded, even if it
were somehow intercepted. NOTE: "THIS PAGE IS SECURE" appears in the
top, right hand corner of all secure pages on this site.
Only select employees have the capability to access order information
and our internal network is protected by passwords and several
different security levels. We do not keep credit card information on
file.
What happens if an item I want is on Back Order or Temporarily Sold Out?
If an item is on back order or temporarily sold out when you place your order, we will hold your entire order until the back ordered item is available to ship. If you would like us to partial ship the order, please contact us by email (info@hvwtech.com) or phone at (403) 730-8603 or 1-888-4HVW-TECH to let us know. Please note there will be additional shipping charges applied if you require partial shipping of your order. As a standard, we do not contact you because there are several messages on the website stating that you have a back ordered item in your shopping cart before the final stage of payment is required.
If an item becomes sold out before we can ship your order we will contact you by email to let you know and to see how you would like us to proceed with the remaining items in the order.
